Chinese New Year is all about symbols of prosperity, good fortune, and good health. The year 2009 is the Year of the Ox, which is also known by its formal name of "Ji Chou." Usually, Chinatowns in the major capitals of the world will be alive with dragon dances and the explosion of firecrackers to ward off the evil spirits of the old Year of the Rat while hailing the good fortunes of the new Year of the Ox. The theme of the dressing would obviously be RED and it seems that for this year.....the lucky number would be 9 because of the lucky flying star No. 9. 

Well, I guess that is the main Chinese New Year fun fact! I guess I better go to bed now after a whole day of cleaning...

Wish all of you a Happy Chinese New Year!! May the Year of Ox bring you and your family best of health, wealth and endless prosperity for this year and many years to come!!

My most DIVA moments!

Before I proceed with my story...we all have to understand what "DIVA" really means.....

I am definitely not a diva-singer but I am all the negative connotation mentioned. So yeah....you can either love me for who I am or hate me. Anyways, what we usually perceive "DIVA" (or maybe just me) is someone who is highly-fashionable with that unique, privileged attitude that screams "D.I.V.A".....you know.....being all American-ish with that attitude like those in the movies, series and videos??

So.....my most DIVA moments??? (excuse me if my story got swayed from the true meaning of DIVA =S) Being Miss Jennifer...I am just a casual, low confidence girl...but..... Let me introduce to you....my evil twin.........

Le Jenny (the DIVA in me)

This arrogant, demanding and fussy little tigress only appears when she's on stage or should I say.....in competitions. The one who cannot accept the word "You're a LOSER" in her face. When she gets on stage, she is all confident about herself physically and mentally (total opposite of me). Sometimes, she does surface every now and then in Miss J's life. At times, I have to suppress that DIVA in me but when there's a need.....Le Jenny will take over.

So, presenting to you..........

Le Jenny in Miss Melaka Beach 2008 and Miss Nyonya Kebaya International Pageant 2008!!!

Being myself, I would never be able to have that confidence and poise to present myself on stage and in public. Why?? Because I am just any ordinary-no-sense-of-fashion girl (you know how they say that confidence is built from your dressings??)...but when Le Jenny takes over.....She could mix and match any clothes in the wardrobe (too many clothes and nothing to wear-Miss J) and comes out with fashion ideas then draws them on paper and works on sewing machines to come up with that unique designs. 

To me, I am lucky to have an evil twin (weighing the benefits and consequences)....without her, I would not have had a wonderful 2008 year....Winning prizes in beauty pageants, getting invites to special events (Chic Code:LBD) and even got the grand prize from TiC (a stay in Indigo Pearl, Phuket and a pair of heels from Shoes, Shoes, Shoes). 

Above all, thanks to Le Jenny for giving me such wonderful opportunities,and the courage and confidence to enter into competitions that the ordinary me would not have thought of. Specially thanks to TiC for the invites and the wonderful prize. 

You people from TiC really gave me the most DIVA moments that I had never had in years =D

2009!!

This blog has been abandoned for more than 2 weeks now. Hmmm....currently am busy. My uncle was back from london and now...I have to do my last minute studying for my finals starting this Wednesday....ish ish...

Anyways, MJ's have a lot of pictures due and not posted. Fret not....will be updating right after my last paper on Friday. Cant wait!! WeeeEeeee~~

Fashion Up!

I couldn't attend this weekend's Tongue in Chic event because I have to prepare for my midterm. Fortunately, the contest (collaboration of Tongue in Chic + Fashion Up!) is still on, so I thought I'd try my luck on it talking about my experiences on either one of the brands:

1. Shoes, Shoes, Shoes
2. Baci Boutique (my fav)
3. Nurita Harith (can't afford those elegant dresses)
4. Exquisitz
5. Sugar Boutique

As we all know, Bangsar is known as a 'heaven boutique' especially for the ladies species. But....do you actually enter all the shops available there? Well, I choose the shops that I want to enter depending on my budget and it's usually....well.....very very low budget....which means...I'm restricted to most of the shops there (tops-bottoms-dress-bags-shoes-coats budget - max RM60). Where to find lar!??

Moving on.........

One of the many boutiques that caught my eyes is Shoes, Shoes, Shoes. I heard my classmate telling me about it so I thought I'd check it out myself (since she has a big 'appetite' there). I fell in love with the boutique by just staring at it from outside. Love those hanging-shoes-thingy!! Anyways, once I was inside...I literally went crazy checking out shoes after shoes after shoes (suits the name - Shoes, Shoes, Shoes - don't ya think?). But...being a student, I have to limit myself on the max amount of dollars that I can spend on shoes...which is....not more than RM100 per heels. Sad right?Unfortunately for me...I couldn't afford the gorgeous-beyond-awesome-heels that would look so nice on my feet =( My feet would never feel the same again!! (well, this one abit exaggerating la). So, that was my first and the last time going into Shoes Shoes Shoes with my drooling-all-over-till-their-carpet-was-soaked-wet-and-I-almost-caused-flood-in-there look. Yeah...so now, I only drool over this ancient laptop clicking at their website for more heels-holic. Wish I could have a bigger buying power at that time to purchase that gorgeous blue T-bar heels =S 

P/S: Tongue in Chic...you're making me think of those gorgeous heels again......... =(

Time to update the blog once more since it's been abandoned for some time *sorry*

Anyways, am quite happy with my results because I maintained first class which I did not expect at all. New semester starting soon. Got to polish up my presentation skills and memory for the exams. 

Oooh....went to Genting and short shopping trips with my darlings....hmmm the pictures are wayyy overdue. Lazy want to choose and edit out of the 100s we took. Went to LCC to support my brother's band and take pictures...hahaha they got 1st and trophy and....instant noodles?? hahaha....will post those pics up soon....earliest by tomorrow...hopefully.

Thanks to 'the boyfriend' for the many great things and comments heeee....really made my day.Off to bed now.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Who knows that from reading your favorite book on shopping, you'll be actually getting the chance to finally see it filmed into a movie?? Well, from the start when Sophie Kinsella first came out with her book of Confessions of a Shopaholic, I was thrilled and went into MPH bookstore to get myself one but they weren't out in Malaysia yet. But.....luckily, my uncle bought it in UK and brought it back here for the 2 shopaholic sisters. Haha *evil grins* My first touch on the chick flick book. Since then, the 2 obssessive-crazy-shopaholic sisters started collecting Sophie Kinsella's books. Yeah...we have all the collection from Confessions of a Shopaholic to Shopaholic & Baby.

I was interested in the book because I thought...well, it kinda portrays me. Rebecca Bloomwood aka financial journalist, who advices people on their finances, got herself into a big financial problem caused by her obssessive-compulsive-shopping habit. Haha...It kinda relates to me in a way that I am an accounting student (future accountant aka prepares budgets and f/s for people *ehem*) and I am a compulsive buyer-shopaholic who is into fashion trends and designer brands. *OUCH* that's the wacking from 'the boyfriend' indicating that I am supposed to be studying for my finals and not fretting and whining and surfing the web for more gorgeous-heavenly-like-beautiful designs of dresses and dresses and dresses.......ooooh....not forgetting fantastic bags and gorgeous shoes. 

Anyways, getting back to the point of this post.....there will be an upcoming film based on The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic and to be released February 13, 2009. Hmmm....I kinda doubt that the movie will be as good as the novel...well, you know...like in Harry Potter....but dearies, fret not. Isla Fisher, who will be playing Becky Bloomwood in the film will definitely thrill us with her fashionable clothes. Why do I say that?? Well, if  you love the fab dressings in Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City, I am sure you'll definitely love this film. What else to say?? We're just a bunch of crazy girls who are into fashion and needs to fill our wardrobes with clothes right?? 

This is Isla Fisher who will be playing Becky Bloomwood in the film. 

Oooh...me drooling over her gorgeous clothes. Reminds me so much of Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City and Anne Hathaway in Devil Wears Prada. Dont you just wish you babes could get your hands on em??

Finally finished the most stressful assignments!! WeeeEEee~~

Have been abandoning this page for a very long time already. Anyways, this will be a short post as I am truly exhausted over leading the tax project and I need my beauty sleep. What do you do when you have to listen to a boring lecture for 2 hours?? It's not any other ordinary subject...it is the one and only, well respected TAXATION 11...I sat beside my dear LengLeng...As usual we listened to the lecture and write down additional notes (fuh!!hardworking ryt?) As usual...my mind would be floating elsewhere...physically there but not mentally and spiritually. So, sometimes I tend to copy the notes from those who sat beside me....This time, I saw LengLeng wrote so much (based on assumptions only). I kept looking for a few times so I decided to lean closer and see what-seemed-to-be-writing-non-stop...

How many of you have ever been to a Junkyard Sale?? This type of sales vary from new to second hand clothing to accessories to collector's items and if...that is IF you're lucky, you might get yourself high-end designer labels at a bargain price. Prices so unbelievable that you will probably want to pinch yourself to check if you're in dreamland.





This time around, Bombshell Boutique Salon located in Bangsar will be throwing a fashion junkyard sales this Saturday, 9th August 2008....which is TOMORROW!!! Bangsar is also known as a heaven of boutiques for fashionistas of all ages. So ladies.......clear your appointments, fill your purses with cash and head on down to Bombshell Boutique Salon tomorrow from 1pm till 7pm. Do not forget to dress your best because you are not just shopping but also....enjoying the groove of 90's music spinning off the player. Think the 90's and TEA DANCE!!!!

Busy

Okay...What have I been up to lately??

Hmmm.....been very very busy with slacking and studying. Been so much on my books that I barely have time to come online. Had 2 killer papers on the same damn day which was yesterday but am glad that everything is over now. BUT.....still got 3 more papers to go lar....soooo gonna die!!! sighs....have to study study study plus do the tonnes of assignments.

Finally got the time to update this blog since hmmm.....I don't know when. Didnt even have time to do Marilyn's tag...Will do your tag as soon as I've got the time ya....PROMISE!!! Owh Chris.....soooo sorry that day couldn't chat with you because was busy doing my assignment or was it studies?? AAARRRGGHH!!!

Anyways, today will be another fun day out with 'the boyfriend'.

Determination

Have you ever vowed to yourself or make resolutions every beginning of a new year? Well, I had made vows and promises or whatever-you-call-them but I can't seem to find myself to keep to them. Why?? I seriously have no idea at all. I told myself that I must must must study hard and score but everytime when a new semester begins, I start to slack off too. When I promised 'the boyfriend' gazillion years ago that the dress would be my final purchase and vowed to stop shopping for awhile, I couldn't stop! I see new clothes....I go haywire!! I am a compulsive buyer plus a demanding one. When I shop, I must get what I want. Yeah....stubborn and demanding. Actually, that applies to everything that I do. It is all about getting what I want and not letting anything comes in the way. Sighs.... Unfortunately, the thing that I do not have is DETERMINATION!!! I have broken so many promises.....hmmmm.....let's see...(counting with fingers and toes, then calculator, KA-BAMMM!!!!)
Even calculator also explode when I try to count back on those broken promises. Definitely no help at all. What is determination??

This is totally ABSURD!! My ex-schoolmate just told me that someone on her msn list with the email consisting my name is claiming to be me. That is so darn wrong. I don't even know who actually do that. Well, some people are just too free with nothing to do and decided to create a hotmail account with my name on it adding my friends who are not even on my current msn list and pretending to be me. I do not know what is his/her intentions are but please get to me first before confirming the add to make sure that it is truly me and not a fake version of me.


Anyways, I made a small steamboat gathering with my friends from class yesterday night. The boyfriend gave me a suprise that I could never imagine. Well-planned huh!!! We took a few pictures. Most with bad lightings but well, had to edit it first but the ones with the nice lightings were really nice. Love the color mood.
