Scarlett Johansson. Dolce&Gabbana Cosmetics Spring/Summer 2009.

As we all know, Dolce & Gabbana is an Italian fashion house with its designs worn by the likes of Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Fergie and Christina Aguilera. Honestly, I love their dresses as they have exquisite and elegant designs that would make one feels posh and confident. Yeapz...because of that I got myself one of their floral design dresses that I feel can only be worn for some posh brunch or tea party. Did you know that there are a difference between Dolce & Gabbana and D&G?? The first specializes on more formal, luxurious items influenced by designers and the other one is more of a casual line that attempts more on trend-setting.

This time around, Dolce & Gabbana will be launching their new cosmetics collection this Spring which had input from legendary makeup artist, Pat McGrath. If I'm not mistaken, their new makeup line will be available starting from next month. The makeup will be packaged in glossy gold cases slipped into velvet pouches. The collection takes inspiration from the Meditteranean and will feature lipsticks with rose scents.

According to Stefano Gabbana,
"We see makeup as another thing for women, like a dress. We worked on the makeup line like we work on a clothing collection — you can change makeup like you can change your clothes, depending on your mood."

Scarlett Johansson, an actress and singer of American and Danish citizenship, has been chosen as the new face of Dolce & Gabbana's new cosmetics collection for Spring 2009 ad campaign. The pouty-lipped and recently married Scarlett Johansson, features on the new ad of the Italian fashion house, lying on white-off silken sheet with a Marilyn Monroe style pose. This long-awaited Dolce & Gabbana Cosmetics ad campaign was shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo. Well, I guess she is in line with Madonna, Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham who are celebrities-cum-supermodels this season.

So far, I could only find these 2 ads....reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe.......

Scarlett Johansson looking very Marilyn-Monroe-esqe, evoking a very old school, glamorous style.
Even when the ad is about promoting Dolce & Gabbana's foundation, Scarlett's pouty lips will always stand out.

p/s: More fashion posts as more brands are introducing their Spring/Summer 2009 ads. Hope I don't bore you readers =S
