One of my favorite icons, Kate Moss, who has been good friends with Stella McCartney, was chosen to front McCartney's Spring ad campaign. The shot was taken by photographer Ryan McGinley in Puerto Rico, if I'm not mistaken. The background has water colour details and psychedelic vibes. I would say....very artistic indeed. Anyway, I've only got this 1 picture after searching through the internet. Will update if I have more =)
Kate Moss in a white-tailored jumpsuit from Stella McCartney's Spring collection.
My silent style icons, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, have launched a new menswear line for their high-end label, The Row. It seems that Ashley Olsen was the one who originally conceived the idea for the boys. The stealthy global expansion of The Row has surprised the fashion world with its subtle chic and avoidance of the typical celebrity-designer business. Their label has been a word-of-mouth global success and this time their new pieces for men will have the same aesthatic value as the women's collection.
According to the Olsen twins,
"The men's wear reflect what its creators find attractive in men."
According to Ashley Olsen,
"The Row for Men is definitely [created for] an older, masculine man."
Mary-Kate Olsen added,
Designs always have to come from what you like."
Well, their 35-piece men's collection will be available next fall and I can imagine how attractive those men would be, dressed in The Row Menswear. Fret not my girlies.....trust the Olsen twins because they have been altering their clothes since they were six years old and it is definitely a big help to have trained your eyes for that long. That sort of inspired me to alter mine too =)
The lovely Olsen twins. Oooh...I love the combination of the colors orange and blue.
p/s: 'The boyfriend' will be back tomorrow....can't wait!!!
Agyness Deyn or Laura Hollins is a British model who has been hailed as 'the fashion industry's next great supermodel' and also an 'ambassador of British youth culture'. She is one of my favorite fashionista for her boyish-punkish-quirky style which I think is really unique and one-of-a-kind not to mention her fabulous physique that I absolutely admire. Ooooh....she's also a friend to my favorite icon Daisy Lowe. Well, Agy is well known for her hair and style. This peroxide-blonde pixie cut has a wild-wardrobe that even I envy but I am not that daring enough to dress like she does. I just love her sense of style and hair of course....
Anyways, she appeared in UK Vogue March 2009 Editorial : Acid Reign which caught my attention because of the colorful clothings and not to mention her to-die-for poses. The shots were taken by photographer Patrick Demarchelier. Drool ladies......
Agy in Vogue Korea January 2009 issue being gorgeously feminine, channeling her inner Marilyn Monroe self.
Two of my favorite celebrities graced the covers of fashion magazines which I think they did a really good job with it. Both looking as beautiful as ever. Hmmmm no clue what I'm talking about??
Gwyneth Kate Paltrow is an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and double Screen Actors Guild Award winning American Actress. She is married to Chris Martin from the British rock group Coldplay and they both have a daughter called Apple Blythe Allison Martin. I adore her for her attitude just like how I adore Angelina Jolie. Anyways, Elle UK gave Gwyneth Paltrow the March 2009 cover called "The Fashion Issue".
Another favorite celebrity of mine has to be the Olsen twins!! Mary-Kate Olsen is an American actress and best known as a fashion icon for pioneering her signature "homeless" look. Her style is similar to Bohemian chic with an aesthetic of mixing high-end pieces with low-end. For the March 2009 issue of Canada's Fashion magazine, Mary-Kate Olsen is the cover girl.
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is a French-born British actress, whom we all know better for her role as Hermione Granger, one of the three starring roles in the Harry Potter film series. Yeapz....the witty, genius, orange-haired girl in the movie. Do not be deceived by her all-innocent look as she is also known for her love of fashion. She likes to mix high street, vintage, and high fashion. She rarely uses stylists because she prefers to dress herself.
VS. Magazine falls in the same category as Haute Magazine. VS. Magazine has this high fashion and professionalism that you can hardly find anywhere. For their SS 2009 issue, they have chosen actress Emma Watson. The exclusive photoshoot was conducted by Ellen von Unwerth and has just been released online. I am sure that these pictures will blow any one of you away because it is definitely different from how you would expect of Emma Watson.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures....
Emma holding a porcelain doll, lying on the sofa.
Emma in a lavish bathroom area playing with makeup.
Emma in a flapper dress, dancing with a male companion.
I love how she looks so doll-like in this picture.
Emma wearing a black flapper dress holding an old-fashioned birdcage, portraying a magician's assistant.
p/s: Got to head to uni for my first day of the semester. ish ish....soooo in holidays' mood =S
Leighton Marissa Claire Meester, born in 1986, is an American actress and aspiring singer-songwriter. Well, she would be best known for her role as Blair Waldorf aka Queen B in the chick-flick series Gossip Girls. I absolutely adore her style because it has this vintage but yet chic touch to it. I could understand why some girls would be dressing up exactly like Blair Waldorf. So much for the influence of it. Hhaha....Lyn, you better not be one of those girls okay?? LOL!!!
Anyways, Leighton Meester is very lucky to have been chosen to be the first cover girl for the Nylon Magazine, Mexico edition. She even attended a cocktail party to launch her Nylon Mexico cover in Mexico city. Besides that, she will also be featured in Teen Vogue for the February issue. Owh well.....I am loving her every clothings on-set, off-set and even in photoshoots. Just like she said in her interview.....
“I just have fun with it [fashion]. I don’t really think about what other people say or think. I just wear what I love and what I feel comfortable in.”
Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girls.
Leighton on Nylon Mexico cover looking grunge.
Leighton on Teen Vogue February issue.
Leighton wearing a black Preen Spring 2009 dress at the cocktail party. Loving her bold, red lips.
Leighton behind-the-scenes for Teen Vogue Cover Shoot.
I have got two videos here for you girlies.....the first is Leighton talking about Gossip Girl, fashion and her vacation to Mexico with the mag....and second is the footage and outtakes of Leighton for Teen Vogue Cover Shoot.
Well, here's another treat for you....another video of Leighton Meester and Blake Lively...our two Queen Bees at a photoshoot for the U.S edition of Nylon in April 2008. Enjoy =)
As we all know, Dolce & Gabbana is an Italian fashion house with its designs worn by the likes of Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Fergie and Christina Aguilera. Honestly, I love their dresses as they have exquisite and elegant designs that would make one feels posh and confident. Yeapz...because of that I got myself one of their floral design dresses that I feel can only be worn for some posh brunch or tea party. Did you know that there are a difference between Dolce & Gabbana and D&G?? The first specializes on more formal, luxurious items influenced by designers and the other one is more of a casual line that attempts more on trend-setting.
This time around, Dolce & Gabbana will be launching their new cosmetics collection this Spring which had input from legendary makeup artist, Pat McGrath. If I'm not mistaken, their new makeup line will be available starting from next month. The makeup will be packaged in glossy gold cases slipped into velvet pouches. The collection takes inspiration from the Meditteranean and will feature lipsticks with rose scents.
According to Stefano Gabbana,
"We see makeup as another thing for women, like a dress. We worked on the makeup line like we work on a clothing collection — you can change makeup like you can change your clothes, depending on your mood."
Scarlett Johansson, an actress and singer of American and Danish citizenship, has been chosen as the new face of Dolce & Gabbana's new cosmetics collection for Spring 2009 ad campaign. The pouty-lipped and recently married Scarlett Johansson, features on the new ad of the Italian fashion house, lying on white-off silken sheet with a Marilyn Monroe style pose. This long-awaited Dolce & Gabbana Cosmetics ad campaign was shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo. Well, I guess she is in line with Madonna, Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham who are celebrities-cum-supermodels this season.
So far, I could only find these 2 ads....reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe.......
Scarlett Johansson looking very Marilyn-Monroe-esqe, evoking a very old school, glamorous style.
Even when the ad is about promoting Dolce & Gabbana's foundation, Scarlett's pouty lips will always stand out.
p/s: More fashion posts as more brands are introducing their Spring/Summer 2009 ads. Hope I don't bore you readers =S
Remember that time when I posted up on Victoria Beckham ( click here )??? She was the new face for Armani's women underwear collection spring/summer 2009 collection.....and a picture of the Beckham pairs posing in one of the underwear collection??? Anyways, more new shots of David Beckham is up on their site already. He looks gorgeous as always with that literally-drop-dead gorgeous body. You got to check out the tattoos he have on his body....Not too many and they are just right.
Check the pictures out ladies......but don't drool till your keypad goes haywire okay?? heeeee....
Daisy Rebecca Lowe, who is 20 years old this year, is an English fashion model who has modelled for editorial photoshoots and commercial advertising campaigns, and has also worked as a runway model. Oooh...she is the daughter of Pearl Lowe, the singer/songwriter turned textile and fashion designer, and Gavin Rossdale, the front man of the band Bush and husband of Gwen Stefani. Hmmm...which means she is also the step-daughter of Gwen Stefani.
Miss Lowe began her modelling at the age of 2. She not only has passion in music and art but also in fashion. That would definitely explain her one-of-a-kind styles. I would say that Miss Lowe is in very good relationship with Miss Luck as she is replacing Cole Mohr as the face of Marc by Marc Jacobs, appearing in campaigns for Agent Provocateur and Pringle of Scotland......and now, she is debuted as the new face for DKNY Jeans. She is one lucky lady alright.....
Daisy Lowe has used her It-Brit appeal to score these campaigns and increase her ad currency. Who knows?? Maybe if she is lucky, she might be able to catch Christopher Bailey's eye for the next season being the Burberry mainline since it is after all a coveted British model-only campaign.
The DKNY Jeans ad campaign is shot by legendary fashion photographer The Sartorialist's Scott Schuman. This whole campaign intends to reflect Shuman's street style photography inspired by the energy of New York city. The shots are all about "encapsulating the buzz that's found on the streets of New York". By the way, Shuman is known better for his everyday portraits where he literally snaps stylish passers-by on the streets of the world's most fashionable cities with beautiful results.
Patti Cohen, executive vice president of marketing and communications for Donna Karan International said,
“Donna always says that jeans are not about a season, but rather part of your skin, something you can’t live without. So, we wanted to make a personal statement about jeans and fashion and Scott seemed so perfect to shoot this. He brings such a freshness to street style.”

Don't you just love her style?? I know I am loving it =)
When I heard on the radio this afternooon that Madonna is going to be Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2009 spokesperson, I was so thrilled!! I needed to see this with my own eyes to believe it. I looove this brand especially their dresses....and I got my first from Paris. When I got back to London, I put my name as the don't-know-few-hundreth-person for a dress I saw from their latest catalogue....and yeah....it did not reach my turn since they only got 2 dresses in and only 1 that is my size. Ish....disappointing........Anyways, back to my title......
As we all know, Louis Vuitton is one of the oldest names in the fashion industry. In the beginning, it was only catered more to the well-traveled set but since designers like Marc Jacobs, Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami joined and collaborated, LV now means all-out luxury with a major dose of fashion-forward chic. This time for the Spring/Summer 2009 ad campaign, it was Marc Jacobs's idea to have Madonna, the Material Girl, as the spokesperson. It seems that Madonna has already shot a series of LV print promo with renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.
According to Marc, the French's fashion house creative director,
“I wanted the campaign to be very bold, very sensual and very atmospheric. To carry off all these references and all this sophistication, we needed the ultimate performer and for me, that is Madonna.”
Madonna being 50 year-old is definitely a hot momma. The singer has been pictured sporting unsightly bulging veins as a result of her rigorous exercise regime. She is definitely not losing her sex appeal with age in those stunning ads for Louis Vuitton (much envy). Can you believe it?? She shows no sign of ageing and still has that flawless skin with toned-up figure. By the way, this is not the first time the mother of three has posed for an LV shoot.
This time round, Material Girl Madonna poses provocatively for the new ad campaign. Madonna transforms into Marc Jacobs' vision of the quintessential Parisienne, striking provocative poses in the season's sexy short skirts, ethnic-inspired sandals and animal-print bangles. The first visuals show Madonna with the collection's emblematic slouchy bags in Monogram canvas and Monogram-embossed leather. The Vogue singer is definitely recreating the look from the LV campaign. The shots have a Marlene Deitrich world-weary vamp type-of-vibe and it was all Marc Jacobs' brilliant idea for blurting out the cutting-edge concept. The ads were shot by fashion photographer Steve Meisel, who also shot Madonna's infamous "Sex" coffee table photo book.
Here are her gorgeous pictures and I'm in love with those bags.........
Madonna poses seductively on a chair wearing fishnet tights, a tailored jacket and stilettos.

Take a look at the scenes that go on behind the shootings and the making of the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2009 ad campaign starring Material Girl Madonna.
